The Digital Era of Removables.
Removable prosthetics have historically been the most labor-intensive workflow in the lab. Transitioning to digital Acrylic & RPD Design eliminates the messy wax-work and investing.
Whether you are printing Flexible Partials (Valplast/Nylon) or milling PMMA Flippers, our designs ensure the path of insertion is calculated mathematically, preventing the common issue of the appliance being “too tight” to seat.
Technical Engineering Specs
We handle the complex surveying required for successful retention:
Partial Dentures (RPD)
- Surveying: We define the Path of Insertion to optimize retention while minimizing unsightly gaps.
- Clasp Design: Customized for material stiffness (e.g., thicker clasps for flexible nylon, thinner for stiff acetal).
- Guide Planes: Digitally blocked out for smooth insertion.
Full Dentures
- Posterior Palatal Seal (Post-Dam): Digitally carved (0.5mm – 1.0mm) to ensure suction.
- Festooning: Natural root eminence sculpting (stippling optional).
- Teeth: Libraries available for standard carded teeth or monolithic printed teeth.
Why Outsource Removables?
Designing a partial denture frame or an acrylic flipper requires understanding the “Survey Line.” Our technicians use advanced tools in 3Shape/Exocad to visualize undercuts (0.25mm vs 0.50mm) and place retention precisely where it’s needed.
Submission Workflow
- Scan: Upload Intraoral scans (capture the vestibules!) or Desktop model scans.
- Specify: Restoration Type (e.g., “Upper Flipper”, “Lower Flexible RPD”) and Manufacturing Method.
- Receive: Download the STL files by 8:00 AM EST.
